01/15/2017 The 2017 Dallas Cowboys vs the Green Bay Packers playoff game is where it all began. Beth Gaddis, invited me to her parent's house for a watch party with a group of her husband's friends. Haley was applying to dietetic internships at the time, so getting into a relationships was the least of her worries. Conner showed up hungover, as he was out the night before celebrating his birthday with his friends. He quickly introduced himself to Haley and in the middle of our conversation, his friend walked up and said "hey, check out this video of Conner puking on the side of his truck!" *laughs* As game time was approaching, we all moved upstairs, settled on the couch, and Conner strategically left a tiny open spot for Haley to sit. Haley highly impressed Conner with her football knowledge *thanks dad* and he was hooked!
04/12/2019 Conner's wish was to propose to Haley at AT&T Stadium on the STAR in the middle of the field. This is how it happen! Conner picked up the phone and cold called AT&T Stadium customer service for a private tour. Conner said, "I would love to propose to my girlfriend in the middle of the field and have our family and friends run out afterwards." With so much happiness in the customer service representative's voice, he said, "Dude, we would love to make this happen for you." Once Conner got all the details in order, the day finally came. Conner came home from work to pick up Haley (who by the way, thought the tour was given to them as a gift from The Salfiti's). Conner quickly downed a few alcoholic beverages to calm his nerves. As they were getting ready to walk out the door, Conner realized he did not have a place to put the ring box. Conner decided to grab a jacket and slip the box in the front pocket. *Conner had to play this off well, due to the fact that is was 70 degrees outside and he is ALWAYS hot.* When they arrived at the stadium, Conner nervously parked in 2 parking spots. We walk in to meet our tour guide, and Conner still tightly holding the jacket, like Dak Prescott running for the game winning touchdown. Conner's nerves were taking over *constantly talking about doors,* he made his way into the bathroom to splash water on his face. After visiting the cheerleader's and football player's locker rooms, we slowly progressed onto the field. A camera man, set up at mid-field asked, "may I take your picture?" and Haley obliviously replied, "is it free?" *giggles* The camera man handed Haley a football for the picture, and turns to Conner, and says, "put down that stupid jacket!" Conner proceeds, taking the ring out of his jacket pocket and gets down on one knee. Haley cried, "YES! OMG. OMG. OMG." And our family and friends stormed the field with signs and noise makers.
