It's FINALLY happening!

The first time we met was at a mutual friends wedding, I was 16 and he was 14. I did not know it at the time but he had made a bet with his friends that he could get my number. Well, he did. A few weeks later we had our first date, a double date with my sister and her boyfriend. We saw The Amazing Spider Man. We dated for about a month, he stole my first kiss in the back of my sisters PT Cruiser. Then he told me he loved me and it terrified me, so I dumped him.- harsh I know. Almost two years went by and our youth groups had a joint function. We hung out the whole time, just having fun. After that night i just could not stop thinking about him so i told one of our mutual friends to find out if he felt the same way.... and of course he did. We started dating on March 13, 2014 and the rest is history. I feel so privileged to have ,met the love of my life so early, and to have had the chance to grow together in life. Transitioning from high school, to college, to the working world was a challenge. Fortunately I had my best friend with me through it all.

The conversation about getting married had become a frequent conversation topic between the two of us. We had looked at some rings and i had sent him several pictures of what I liked. I was prepared in a way, I knew it was coming I just didn't know when. I had planned to go to a pumpkin patch with my family. I invited Collin to come with us the night before, but he said he had to work the next day. The morning of the proposal I was just thinking about how impatient I was growing, wondering when he was going to pop the question. My mom was in the shower and I heard her phone go off and glanced at it and then went back to getting ready. Something came up and my dad was going to be later than expected so we were going to postpone the trip for a few hours. I then received a text from my friend Chelsea asking me to go Marshalls with her- which is always a YES! I asked my sister to come and we headed to Marshalls. Chelsea said she had to make a pit stop by the lake to see if it would a be a good spot to take pictures. As we pull up to the lake I am just talking and my sister and Chelsea get quiet and just stare at me. I then look over to see Collin standing there smiling with flowers and pumpkins decorated all around him. I was truly so surprised. I get out and all I can say is, "OH MY GOSH". With tears in his eyes, he told me how much he loved me and he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. He got down on one knee and said, "Megan Nicole Neely, will you marry me?". A moment I will NEVER forget! Little did I know, he planned to surprise me at the pumpkin patch and propose. When my mom saw me look at her phone she thought I saw the plans and called him and told him to do something different. They tried to convince him to wait and plan it for another day, but he said couldn't wait any longer. It ended up being so perfect, more than I could ever imagine.
