Maymont
Maymont is a 100-acre historic estate and park, located in Richmond, Virginia, with many unique experiences for all to enjoy. Stroll through the gardens and arboretum, see native wildlife habitats, feed friendly goats, and explore The Robins Nature Center. This is great for kids and is a few blocks away from Colleen & Lathem's first apartment together on Lake Rd in Byrd Park.
Belle Isle Suspension Bridge
Great nature walk with amazing views of the James River! Walk over the pedestrian suspension bridge and explore trails on Belle Isle.
Hollywood Cemetery
Historic cemetery in the Oregon Hill neighborhood with the burials of two U.S. Presidents and amazing views of the James River. Great for the history lovers.
Virginia Museum of Fine Arts
The VMFA is one of the largest comprehensive art museums in the United States. The permanent collection is free to all, and there is a kids' area on the bottom floor. This is a favorite of Colleen & Lathem's and was the site of some of their first dates.
Virginia State Capitol
Great for history lovers! The Capitol building is free and open to the public from 9:00-5:00 M-F and 1:00-5:00 SS. It is a very short walk from the hotel and the Capitol grounds include statues and a walking path.
Shopping in Carytown
This boutique-lined street is called Richmond’s “mile of style” for good reason, but it’s also a mile of bookstores, candy shops, bike shops, coffee shops, restaurants with patios, and novelty shops.
Breweries in Scott's Addition
Scott's Addition is a national historic district located in Richmond, Virginia. It is the brewing district of Richmond. Home to the Veil, Ardent, Hardywood, Three Notch'd, Bingo Beer Co, Buskey Cider, Strangeways, Väsen, and more. You can't go wrong!
The Poe Museum
Museum honoring the life of poet and notable Richmonder, Edgar Allan Poe. Admission is $10 for adults, $7 for seniors, and $3 for kids over 6. It is located in the Shockhoe Bottom neighborhood a little over half a mile from the hotel.
Children's Museum of Richmond
The Children's Museum is focused on fun, discovery, and learning through play. Great activity for toddlers and kids!
