If you ask Willie, we met on a party bus. Marissa remembers it a bit differently. The general story is that we met while pledging for Phi Delta Chi, a pharmacy fraternity at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. With a pharmacy class size of only ~100 and a pledge class of ~25, we found ourselves together much of the time for the next 4 years, and the rest is history.
In early 2018, Marissa and Willie decided to buy a house together instead of getting married, so that set the proposal back some time. After building back up some capital, and some strategic visits to the local jeweler, it was time to get back on track. Willie proposed after cooking dinner at home, after which Marissa promptly dropped her food on the floor, as usual.
