If you’re flying into Portland, and your arrival aligns with their operating hours, we recommend stopping here on your drive to your hotel. Grab a dozen shuck-your-own oysters and enjoy the water view.
Odd Alewives Farm Brewery
Also great to hit on the drive up to Rockland. A seasonal brewery and wood-fired kitchen serving REALLY good pizzas.
McLoons Lobster Shack
Located on the end of Spruce Head island and voted the #1 lobster roll in Maine (yeah). This is also down the street from our home, so make sure to stop by on your way!
Sammy's Deluxe
“A simple, little Maine restaurant” and our all-time favorite. Only a few daily menu items that Sammy designs based on seasonal ingredients + a great beer/wine/natural wine selection. No reservations, and he’ll probably vibe you when you come in.

Rockland
Our hometown! If you have time, visit the Farnsworth museum which is recognized as one of the best American art collections in the nation and boasts a huge collection of Andrew Wyeth. Also home to many boutiques, wine bars, and restaurants.
Camden
One of the most beautiful towns on the East Coast. Camden is the next major town from Rockland and is loaded with waterfront restaurants, bars, and shops. Camden Hills State Park is beautiful for hiking trails!
