After an unforgettable study abroad trip to Ireland, we decided to save and spend a week exploring Paris. One of the highlights of our trip was a visit to Monet’s Garden in the quaint village of Giverny, nestled in the French countryside. As we strolled through the lush gardens, surrounded by blooming flowers and peaceful ponds, Caden had something special in store. On the famous Japanese bridge, where Monet once stood capturing the beauty of his surroundings in his iconic impressionist paintings, Caden got down on one knee and proposed. This moment was incredibly meaningful because Coley, being a painter herself, has always had a deep love for Monet and the Impressionists, finding inspiration in their use of light, color, and emotion. Standing in the very place where one of her greatest inspirations worked made the proposal all the more special. Now, Monet’s work has taken on an even deeper significance, forever tied to this beautiful memory.
