Flight
Mexico City International Airport Benito Juárez is the best and closest airport option as it is right in Mexico City. There are plenty of direct flights from USA. You can easily connect with Ubers, Taxis, hotel shuttles, etc. Please make sure your passport is valid and up to date. If you do not have a passport, please leave enough time to apply and receive your passport before date of travel. We recommend doing this ASAP.
Hotel
The Airbnbs in Mexico City are our favorite way to enjoy the city as you're able to stay in the heart of the neighborhoods. A lot of the units themselves are spacious with impeccable design and are secured in doormen buildings. When booking an Airbnb, we recommend narrowing your search to stay within Roma, Roma Norte, and Condesa. These areas are all walkable and safe! We will be staying near Parque Mexico in Condesa. This is such a great area with a lot of nature, restaurants, bars, shops, etc. We have also loved staying near the beautiful Plaza Río de Janeiro as it's well located with a lot of great restaurants and sites.
