One of our very favorite places to eat breakfast! Sometimes there's a little line outside, but we promise it's worth the wait. :)
A very large (and VERY beautiful) botanical garden. There is an entrance fee (weekdays: $23 adults/$19 students & seniors) (weekends: $25 adults/$21 students & seniors), but the gardens are large and you can easily spend several hours here!
"LA's Oldest Bowling Alley"! Whether or not this is true, you can enjoy craft cocktails and sitting in big comfy Chesterfields while knocking down some pins. If your score reaches 3 digits you are already a better bowler than Dani!
Since we're not the best at describing restaurants, enjoy this quip from Joy's Yelp page. "Taiwanese classics get a hip twist at this Highland Park eatery from the Pine & Crane team." There is often a line here too (IDK I guess its an LA thing!). But again, it moves fast and is worth the wait! You can usually skip the line if you get there before 4:30 PM.
When Bob Baker Marionette Theater is not busy hosting our wedding, they also serve as an historic LA puppet theater. All puppets and shows are original to their early days (the theatre opened in 1955!). Highly strange, and trippyy -- both kids and adults alike will love it! This place is near and dear to our hearts. You can buy tickets to see a full length show on their site! Don't be bummed if you can't make it to a show, as there may or may not be a surprise show before our wedding. SHHH!
Our local healthy market, juice/smoothie/coffee bar, and lunch cafe. Mostly known for their breakfast burritos! A great place to grab a quick lunch or breakfast, or even to fill up the fridge at your AirBNB. Next door to a great vintage shop too!
Suitcase get lost? Last minute outfit change needed? Just bored? Bearded Beagle is one of our go-to vintage shops! It is on a wonderful strip with our favorite pizza place Triple Beam, Coffee at Go Get 'Em Tiger, fancy-ish dinner at Hippo, and previously mentioned Kitchen Mouse!
