At the time, Colby was playing College Baseball at a college in San Antonio. Summer Break had just begun and Colby headed home for the break. On his break he decided to go to Strike Zone, which are batting cages in Belton. Samantha's best friend (Madison) worked at Strikezone part time helping out her grandparents who owned the business. She ran into Colby while she was working at the batting cages and gave Samantha's phone number to him. Colby called Samantha later that day to ask her on a date and the rest is history! This also was coincidently on Colby's birthday!

Samantha's Maid of Honor called her a week prior to ask her to go to a work event with her. It was supposed to be a Wine and Dine Dinner and award ceremony in Salado. They talked all week about what they were going to wear, and how Madison, Samantha's friends would be winning an award. Colby was planning on going fishing that day with his friends, so it was a perfect plan for a Saturday night for both of them! The 29th comes around and Samantha heads over to Madison's house after work. Madison finally is finished getting ready and they head out to Salado for dinner. Madison takes Samantha down an odd back road and parks next to a creek with a gazebo. There was a man with all these decorations in the gazebo and Samantha tells Madison that they are intruding on someone's special moment. The second Madison says, "Bammy this is for you." (Yes, she calls her Bammy!) Samantha freezes into place, she was so excited. He had a red carpet lined with candles to an arch with him standing underneath of it. Next to him were hay bales with the letters 'MARRY ME' and heart shaped balloons. It was a proposal of Samantha's dreams! He asked her to marry him and of course Samantha said, "YES!!!" Colby & Samantha are so excited to celebrate this next chapter in their lives with you. See you in Schulenburg!
