Way back in 2008, Allison was walking into the band room her freshman year of high school. She was greeted with "Love Song" by Sara Bareilles being played on the piano by quite the cute, young man in a button up plaid shirt over a white T-shirt and jean shorts (and yes she remembers that). For a brief moment time stopped and Allison's heart skipped, just something about this young man really caught her attention. She just had to get to know him! Fortunately, even though he was two grades ahead of her they would always share the same period of marching band in the morning. Little did she know, that Colby was also taken by her, but was a tad too shy. Over time, Allison gathered the courage to ask Colby's friends where he ate lunch to try and learn more about him than just the backside of his head during marching practice. She found out he would hang out in the drama room and often was playing the piano there too. Finally, she asked if she could sit with him, and they gradually shared interests in music, games, and movies. As they grew to know each other more they would continue chats online on MySpace and share quizzes, often tying up the landline for so long that Allison's mom would have to ask her to turn off the computer. One night Colby expressed that he "really, really, really, really, really" liked Allison over chat and that he was excited to see her at school the next day. On 11/06/2008 Colby asked Allison to go outside onto the ramp of the band room, where she first heard him playing music, and asked if she would be his girlfriend. Of course Allison said yes! The first year of the relationship was filled with dates to the new Twilight movie, school dances, and hanging out at Colby's ranch. It was a whirlwind of teenage romance. The next several years where were the relationship became well, rocky. Colby was looking at colleges out of state and Allison was losing touch with her friends as she focused her free time with Colby. Eventually Colby set his sights for Texas A&M College Station for their nuclear engineering program and Corps of Cadets. This broke Allison immensely as she knew she wouldn't see him except for school breaks. Colby would not have the time for the relationship due to his commitment to his buddies and responsibilities with the Corps. Colby and Allison just couldn't keep up and would get back together only to break up several times until finally calling it quits "forever" in early 2014. Allison focused on her studies to get into nursing school and was working full time as a nursing assistant as Colby switched majors and found a passion for electronic systems engineering. Allison moved to Chico for their nursing program and had actually tried to date again, only to realize every guy she met she couldn't stop comparing to Colby. And even though he had broken her heart, and she had broken his, she just couldn't shake the love she shared for him and would dream of them apologizing to each other and making it work. It wasn't until the summer of 2016 that they would start talking again when Colby saw a very depressed Allison on Snapchat. This was the first time they had talked in years and it was as if no time had passed at all. They learned to date each other again and had shown they both had grown up immensely during the time apart. The rest of the story just pieced together perfectly, they would fly between CA and TX to see each other and eventually Allison decided to pack her bags and stop the long distance once and for all. She left her job, family, and friends and moved across country with Colby to start a new life together. After a few short months of living together Colby and Allison adopted THE most fluffy, adorable kitten siblings, Poppy and Salem, and moved them to a house in the 'burbs. We are now finally excited to announce our marriage and make it official!
