The Henry Ford Museum! It's one of my favorite places and a must-visit while you're here. This place is more than a museum; it's a journey through the incredible feats of human innovation. I always get chills seeing the bus where Rosa Parks made her historic stand, and the Wright Brothers' airplane is simply awe-inspiring. It's not just about cars; it's about the stories and revolutions behind them. From the evolution of home appliances to classic cars, each exhibit has its own unique tale of progress. One of my favorite parts is how the museum brings to life the milestones that have shaped our world. Whether you're into history, technology, or just looking for an extraordinary experience, the Henry Ford Museum is an adventure in every sense. If you are able to take the time make sure to share what you think! - Cody
This is our favorite building in Detroit! The Fisher Building the largest marble clad building in the world, designed by the ubiquitous Albert Kahn, contains a huge art deco lobby that shows off the Detroit of the 1920's at the height of its wealth. The lobby also contains a number of cafes and shops including Pure Detroit, a wonderful place to get hand crafted souvenirs. - Michael
If you've never been to Detroit, you're in for a real treat at the Detroit Institute of Arts. This place is a hidden gem in the city, and it's one of the reasons I'm so proud to call Detroit home. The DIA isn't just a museum; it's a sanctuary of culture and history, housing some of the most incredible artworks you'll ever see. As you walk through its halls, you'll be transported across different eras and continents. From the mesmerizing Detroit Industry Murals by Diego Rivera, which capture the spirit and strength of our city, to the hauntingly beautiful works of Van Gogh and Rembrandt, every corner of the DIA is filled with wonder. Don't miss the contemporary art section, where you'll find thought-provoking pieces that challenge and inspire. The museum's collection is vast and varied, offering something for everyone. Whether you're an art aficionado or just curious, the DIA is a place where you can spend hours exploring and still find something new each time. - Cody
There is no other place like this anywhere else. Greenfield Village is a collection of buildings that changed the world. Henry Ford gathered these iconic structures from around the world. If you think I am exaggerating... Think of the workshop where the lightbulb was invented (Menlo Park Complex). The bicycle shop where the Wright brothers created the first airplane. and other amazing homes of famous Americans such as Noah Webster, Robert Frost, and Henry Ford himself. - Cody
