“So we meet again” was the first thing Stephen said to Emily when they matched on Tinder in March 2015. After a little over a month of talking on the phone and texting constantly, Emily and Stephen decided it was finally time they meet in person.

Stephen and Emily had been planning to go to Estes Park, CO for a fancy dinner at the Stanley Hotel for quite some time now, so it wasn’t suspicious when Stephen suggested they go there on a date on this Saturday afternoon. Little did Emily know, Stephen’s family was waiting for them at grandpa’s favorite fishing spot with a cute picnic set up. On their way to dinner, Stephen’s brother Paul called and suggested they go make sure the spot is still fishable and not blocked off. When they arrived, Stephen thought the picnic spot that was set up was for someone else, so took Emily a little closer to the lake instead. As they looked out at the lake watching the Elk drink from the water, Stephen interrupted the silence with "I think it's about time." Emily, being excited for their fun dinner date asked "to go to dinner?" to which Stephen got on one knee and said "I think it's about time I ask you to marry me." If you know Stephen, you won't be surprised that when Emily asked "are you serious," Stephen said "no, it's fake." It was in fact, not fake.
