At the University of Arizona (BEAR DOWN) in 2015, house #1202 is where Dallas lived, and it just so happens, I lived at #1203! We would wave hello and see each other in the parking lot day to day, I was always happy to see my neighbor Dallas! It wasn't until two years later, during winter break in 2017, when Dallas initiated a conversation by responding to a video I posted of myself ice skating… and totally falling on my butt (somehow I caught it all on video... THANKFULLY). We planned to officially meet when we returned back to school. We watched a show together the first day back (it was The Bachelor, but don't tell him I told you lol) and I could tell immediately that this was someone special. I cannot be more thankful for meeting my neighbor, Dallas.
On 2/5/2022, I thought I was going to a nice Saturday brunch with Dallas and then to Old Town Scottsdale for some drinks... totally normal Saturday, right? When we finished eating, Dallas suggested walking around Royal Palms to check out the rest of the place, I truly wasn't suspecting a thing until he stopped at a garden entrance and said "lets check this out"... this is when I went into sheer shock and thought "Wait, is he going to propose, I don't like my nails and I'm wearing a T-shirt". Flash forward to him saying that we should walk further into the garden, where he then told me that he loved me, wanted to spend the rest of his life with me, and then asked me to marry him. I said "YES" clearly followed by "are you being serious right now". Then a photographer popped out of no where and captured the moment. Immediately after the proposal, there was a complete whirlwind of family and friends that arrived in the garden... 40+ people later, we partied all day and it was truly the proposal of my dreams. All my *subtle* hints over the past 5 years, I now know Dallas actually listens to me. BEST. BRUNCH. EVER.
