TRAVEL TO THE AMALFI COAST BY PLANE The closest airport to Amalfi Coast is Naples, Italy (NAP). Naples Capodichini is the International airport serving Naples and the Southern Italian region. BY CAR If you are planning to visit more of the Amalfi Coast during your stay, renting a car is a great way to explore the region! Car hire is available at the airports with Europcar, Hertz, Budget, Avis and Sixty being the most popular car rental companies. From Naples Airport, the journey will take around 90 minutes and you can also stop along the way to take in the stunning views along the coast. From Rome Airport, the drive will take around 4 hours and we recommend leaving early in the morning as there will be heavy traffic and may take longer. The roads leading into the town are also very tight and winding! We recommend pre-booking your car hire and checking with your hotel on the nearest parking garage as parking in Positano can be difficult. You can also speak with your hotel to arrange a Private Transfer from Naples airport and they will be happy to assist. BY TRAIN The most efficient way to get to Positano from Rome is by train and the journey takes around 3 hours. There are no trains that reach directly into the town but you can go the closest station and then arrange a transfer via car or bus from there. Make sure to book your transportation in advance!
