Black Trumpet is a cozy, neighborhood bistro & bar overlooking the harbor. Craft food, great people, creative libations. We love this place and heartily recommend it, probably the best restaurant in Portsmouth! Reservations recommended!
Our favorite place to eat in Portsmouth, located within the Thaxter Hotel. If you love sushi and other Japanese food, this is your spot. Creative and delicious cocktails at their bar as well. In particular we recommend the Ramen which surprisingly stacks up against some of the best we have had anywhere and you can't go wrong with any of the small plates. Don't miss the Yaki Udon!
Old-world European cafe in Portsmouth, a short walk from the hotels. Kyle is partial to the ricotta toast and Emily, the egg simit sandwich. We always visit here when we are in town and guarantee you will be as charmed as we are.
Worth the very short drive over to quaint Kittery, Maine. The absolute best crullers you will ever eat in your life alongside a variety of breakfast items and awesome coffee.
The cultural heart of Portsmouth is Market Square. Located in the center of downtown and surrounded by stunning 17th-century buildings, Market Square is filled with great shops, restaurants, cafes, and boutiques where you can find the perfect New Hampshire souvenir.
Prescott Park is Portsmouth’s best public park, located right on the water. There are over 10 acres of land with gardens, walkways, places to sit, and areas for recreation. Spring brings the best flowers and fall brings the best foliage! Free tours of Prescott Park are offered on summer Fridays at 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM, starting at the Liberty Pole. The Park puts on concerts throughout the year through the Prescott Park Arts Festival. When you plan your Portsmouth trip, we recommend taking a look at the schedule!
