Q & A

The Wedding Website of Claire Jaicks and Parker Eliot
Question

1. When to Travel?

Answer

We recommend traveling to Vail at least 1 day prior to the event to account for weather and travel delays, as well as to acclimate to the altitude and prevent altitude sickness. Vail is 8,150ft above sea level, and the wedding will take place at over 10,000ft.

Question

2. Do I need to rent a car?

Answer

No, but you may want one if you plan to do activities outside of Vail Village like hiking or visiting a grocery store. The Epic Mountain Express (see travel page) can take you to and from the airports, and everything within the main Vail area is accessible by walking or taking a free shuttle. Grocery stores are in West Vail, approx. 3 miles from Vail Village and accessible by the free West Vail town shuttles.

Question

3. How to Get Around Vail

Answer

Vail is very pedestrian friendly and has mostly pedestrian-only streets. There is a free in-town shuttle between the main villages, as well as free buses that run every 40 minutes from Vail Village to surrounding neighborhoods in West Vail and East Vail. If you stay in this vicinity, you do not need a car, though they are helpful if you plan to venture out of the main Vail area. --- Cars cannot drive through the main streets of Vail, but personal cars may be needed if you choose to access areas or activities outside of Vail. This includes trips to the grocery store, some hikes, rafting, and other nearby attractions. There are also limited Ubers/Lyfts.

Question

4. Are kids allowed at the ceremony and reception?

Answer

Although we love your little ones, this is an adult only affair. We would, however, love to celebrate with the whole family at the welcome event on Friday. If you need help finding childcare the night of the wedding, please reach out.

Question

5. Will there be parking at the wedding?

Answer

No. There are no cars allowed on Vail's main streets. The closest public lot is at the Vail Transportation Center.

Question

6. Where is the closest Uber/Lyft/taxi drop off location to the venue?

Answer

Christiania At Vail - 356 Hanson Ranch Rd, Vail, CO 81657

Question

7. How to get to the venue - via Gondola One in Vail Village

Answer

The 10th is at the top of Gondola One in Vail Village. The base of Gondola One is at the top of Bridge Street. *Please note that Vail has 2 gondolas: Gondola One in Vail Village, and the Eagle Bahn Gondola in Lionshead. The Eagle Bahn Gondola is about a 30min walk from Gondola One, and does NOT provide access to The 10th. To get to the base of Gondola One: - From the Vail Transportation Center: Exit at ground level and walk straight through the Covered Bridge and continue up Bridge Street until you arrive at the base of the Gondola - From the Christiana: continue toward the fountain on Bridge Street and turn left to see Gondola One. You can also access the gondola through a path behind the hotel near Pirate Ship Playground
