On New Year's Day, after much convincing from their good friend Ashlynn, Claire and Kyle met. Claire was the Maid of Honor for her best friend, Ashlynn. Kyle was the Best Man for his childhood friend, Alex. Ashlynn and Alex swore up and down the only reason for the meeting was so their wedding wouldn't be awkward... but there is still speculation that Ashlynn just wanted to set them up.
