Jeremy and Claire first met in college at Western Kentucky University. Claire was on the swim team at WKU and Jeremy was on the football team. They met through mutual friends and continued to cross paths. Jeremy became very good friends with many of the swimmers and divers at Western and even roomed with some of them. This meant Claire and Jeremy crossed paths more and more as the years went on. This also meant they became better and better friends. After knowing each other for four years Jeremy and Claire decided to go on their first date in April 2014. However, it's not all sunshine and rainbows. There is some controversy about who made the first move. Claire believes that she was the one to ask Jeremy out, but Jeremy thinks it was a mutual decision. I guess the world will never know.

December 19th Claire came home from work thinking it was just another night; excited to visit family in Tennessee the next day. They had decided to exchange gifts that evening and Claire was excited to give Jeremy his gift. Claire urged him to open his first, but he insisted that she open hers. She easily agreed, had a seat on the coffee table and started to open one of the three gifts. The first was her favorite snack and the second one she opened was her favorite candy. As she picked up the third and final gift she could tell what the large box was just by feeling it: her favorite cereal (krave in case you were wondering). When she unwrapped it she was a bit surprised by a note on the front of the box. The note read, "Open for a toy inside." As she popped open the top she could easily see there was a ring box inside. With tears of joy in her eyes, she rapidly opened the ring box to find a ring she borrowed from her mom. It wasn't the surprise she was thinking it would be. Her joy quickly faded and turned to frustration as she hit Jeremy in the arm saying, "Jeremy, you can't trick me like that. That's not fair." He leaned in to apologize and said, "Why not? Is this the one you wanted?" As he pulls a beautiful round cut diamond out of his pocket and asked her to marry him. He just so happen to be leaning in on one knee.
