Getting to Shelter Island
Drive Train: Penn Station to Greenport Jitney: NYC to Greenport Shelter Island is only accessible by ferry – you can walk or drive on. The jitney and train drop off right next to the ferry. No reservation required - just bring some cash!

Getting Around
Greenport: Greenport is highly walkable with tons of shops and restaurants next to Shelter. If you stay in Greenport, you can walk onto the ferry easily to Shelter Island (15 min). Shelter Island: If you stay on Shelter Island and want to explore in the daytime, we'd recommend renting a car as there are few taxis.
