In February 2022, Clair posted a reel on her Catholic meme page. The reel consisted of trying to avoid the urge to sign up for a CatholicMatch account around Valentine’s Day…….she wasn’t able to follow her own advice and set up an account that same day. That same weekend that Clair had posted the reel, Nick opened his Instagram and saw a reel from a Catholic meme page he followed because he thought the girl who ran it was cute. After seeing the reel he was reminded of his own account on CatholicMatch and decided to open it again. Ironically, the first account that popped up was of the girl who he just saw on Instagram. After Nick sent the first message they immediately clicked and couldn’t stop talking. Messages quickly turned into calls and within days Nick asked Clair out on a date. They agreed to meet in Midland in a month but after a few days, they both realized that they wanted to meet much sooner. Plans were made to meet in person that weekend, only a week and a half after they started talking. The date obviously went well because, after over 30,000 miles driven, one wrecked car(everyone was ok), 2 battery replacements, countless phone calls, FaceTimes, and many weekend visits between Midland and Corsicana, Nick asked Clair to marry him on May 5th, 2023 in Ranger, Texas. Fifteen months after their first date.
