After being introduced at a mutual friend's house party in Milledgeville, Georgia, on a Tuesday in July of 2019, we could not keep our eyes off of each other. We talked for the whole night, our friends jokingly said that we wouldn't leave each other alone. The next day Clayton asked me to go on a lunch date with him to Stacked Sandwiches (our favorite) and the conversations just continued. For the next week, we hung out every single day...and never stopped. About a month later our relationship became official in August of 2019. Through it all, more stacked dates, the various trips to each other's parents, and late nights at our favorite dinner spot, The Brick; we were falling in love. Little did we know that though we were gearing up to start long distance, the challenges to come were building us to be a stronger couple. In the spring of 2020, Kayli graduated from Georgia College and this began our very long year and a half of a long distance relationship, Kayli living in Dacula with her parents and Clayton in Milledgeville finishing up college. At times, not only did our lives feel uncertain but the world was too, we were changing, careers were changing, and it never felt like those days would end. We learned that every single moment we were gifted with each other meant more than the last. We made the most of those weekends spent with each other and the weekends that we were in Milly, we had a standing date at Stacked Sandwiches. Once Clayton graduated college at the end of 2021, he moved into my parents house with us, so that we could save up money before we made the "big kid move" into our own place. At the beginning of 2023, we moved into our apartment in Sandy Springs. We have already made new friends, found our favorite local coffee shop and of course a video game bar. We even adopted a new kitten together and have made our place in Sandy Springs with Harper and Nova, a true home. Shortly afterwards, Kayli went on a trip to Las Vegas with some friends and I went "Golfing" with my brother / best man, Russ. This was not at all a golfing trip but yet to pick out a ring for our engagement. After Kayli returned home, there was some suspicion that she may have had some idea of what was going on, but everyone involved was able to help keep the surprise alive. On a "Random Tuesday", May 16th, 2023, I proposed to Kayli at the Roswell Mill Bridge in Roswell, Georgia. Even though it seemed to be the rainiest day of the entire year, that didn't rain on our parade at all. (Kayli told me not to put that sentence in but I thought it was too funny not to.) We cannot wait to see where these next few years take us. Our life together is just beginning...here is to forever :)
