It was a lovely evening during our first quarter of college. I recently met a new friend who invited me to a beach with some of her friends. I was the first one at the bus stop where we were going to meet at. Once they arrived I met CJ. He was very shy at first, so I made the first move to get to know him. I know right, you guys are probably shocked! After that evening, we realized we had similar interests through school and outdoor activities. We then became super close friends and I was super thrilled when CJ asked me to be his girlfriend on the Santa Cruz Pier after a date night on February 4th, 2017.

We went to Santa Cruz to celebrate our 5th anniversary. Our plan was to walk through campus to reminisce on our college memories. We first stopped by where we spent a lot of time together our first year of college: Merrill College. He stops me from walking any further and gets down on one knee and says, "There's a question I have been wanting to ask you, will you marry me?" I was shaking and could not believe it. It was all truly a surprise—the trip, the proposal, and the ring.
