Megan and Daniel met during their first week of college while attending the freshman retreat for their scholarship program. Upon returning to campus, they quickly bonded over a mutual love of game nights, late night Cookout runs, and Carolina shag dancing. Over the course of a freshman year cut short by COVID, Daniel and Megan continued to grow their friendship both on and off campus. Even after leaving Raleigh, the couple kept in touch through many a game night or Survivor Season 40 watch session. Via Zoom, of course. After returning to campus in the Fall of 2020, Megan and Daniel found themselves spending more and more time with each other. Whether it was taking a study break to watch Community or meeting up everyday for lunch between classes, it was obvious that the time spent together was becoming more precious. That became all too apparent when COVID struck again, shutting down campus and sending everyone their separate ways. Instead of returning home, though, Megan and Daniel’s friend group decided to embark on a 2-month trip, brilliantly coined “Study Domestic”. By renting AirBnBs in Nashville and Chicago, the group was able to quarantine together, enduring online classes while exploring these new cities in their free time. Once again, Megan and Daniel frequently spent this free time together. After a few weeks, the pair ventured out one evening to a local park to play tennis. While stopping at a bench that overlooked the lake, they eventually declared their feelings for one another. Going on a second date a few days later, Daniel officially asked Megan to be his girlfriend while hammocking in a Nashville park. Throughout the rest of their time at NC State, Megan and Daniel enjoyed many coffee shop dates, playing mini-golf, and going out dancing. They enjoyed traveling together, getting to visit Spain, Portugal, and The Bahamas with one other, and can’t wait for a lifetime of adventures with each other.
Throughout college, Megan and Daniel’s favorite dates were at Dewberry Farm, a local flower farm in North Carolina. They loved having picnics surrounded by flowers and couldn’t wait for spring and summer to come each year to see the tulips and sunflowers in full bloom. When Daniel was brainstorming how to propose, Dewberry was the perfect choice. Daniel had arranged for himself and Megan to have a private date at the farm (after a picnic, of course). Megan ecstatically said “yes!” surrounded by fields of tulips.
