Kamal and Cindy met at UConn. Kamal was in his 2nd year studying Computer and Electrical engineering. Cindy was in her 1st year studying Biology. They connected on Instagram as friends, bonding over anime, games, and family. Kamal found an excuse to meet with Cindy in person. He invited her out to watch Black Panther, even though he had already seen it the week before. They still debate whether it was their first date or not. The next time Kamal visited Cindy, he brought her preserved flowers he had made. Although these were the first flowers she had gotten from a boy, she still didn't get the hint that Kamal liked her. They became best friends and as their friendship blossomed, Cindy realized that Kamal was the partner who she had prayed for. At the same time, Kamal realized he had never had a connection like the one he had with her. Soon they made it official. They were each other's first real relationships and they knew they wanted to spend their futures together. Now when Kamal gets Cindy flowers, she gets the hint.
