During their studies at MSU Denver, Cierra and Sam both played lacrosse. In Sam's first semester at Metro, the Men's and Women's teams held a combined event to cheer on their fellow Roadrunners at a volleyball game. Cierra had noticed Sam when she was distracted at practice and has been quoted hoping "the guy with the curly hair was going to be at the game." Sam will still tell you he clearly remembers the moment when Cierra walked in the gym, immediately hoping Cierra would come sit by him! She did ... but with a teammate between her and Sam to calm her nerves. By the end of the month Sam worked up the courage to ask Cierra for her number after practice.

After a slow start and persistence on both accounts, Cierra and Sam visited Chipotle and Cierra even beat Sam to the check. Cierra and Sam began growing their relationship to become "official" in March 2016. They grew their love together and became inseparable best friends over time.

Sam and Cierra grew to know that their love for each other is meant for a lifetime. On November 30, 2018 Sam took Cierra by surprise and returned to where it all began to propose at MSU Denver's Tivoli Quad....She said YES!

Sam and Cierra have since graduated from Metro and begun careers in their respective fields, all the while growing in their personal relationship through laughter, faith, visiting family, and so much more. Cierra and Sam pray that God will continue to bless them together and are excited for you to witness their marriage.
