Ciara and I have a love for spontaneous adventure, so we’ve decided to veto the societal wedding standards and go for an elopement. We don’t have a planned venue, but we know we’d like our ceremony to be on the beach or in the forest with a couple of close family members.
While we love the idea of a reception, we do not have any formal plans on a celebration at this time.
While the general term for elopement means to run away in secret, the word has multiple uses. Our ceremony is very much so “play it by ear”, as we don’t have a set time or place that this will take place. We also wanted to keep this very intimate with only a few family members attending. So it may be considered more a “destination wedding” with a lack of rules and lots of spontaneity.
Katy and I both fell in love with the scenery Oregon has to offer; you get the best of both worlds in mountains/forests as well as ocean/beaches. We truly felt like we left a piece of our hearts in Oregon, so being able to go back to get married there is very special to us.
