Semi-Formal to Garden Attire: From Suits and Cocktail Dresses to Button-ups and Sundresses, please wear whatever makes you comfortable. Temperatures will likely be around 70° - 80° F. In addition, although there is plenty of space to hangout inside, the ceremony and reception will primarily be outdoors, where the ground is slightly uneven brick, so it might be best to avoid thin heeled shoes.
The venue is located about 10-15 minutes from downtown Hood River. Hood River has several hotels and resorts as well as AirBnB and Vrbo, however, we recommend you book early because reservations do fill up quickly in the summer. Otherwise, Portland is about an hour away and likely has more options.
There aren't any shuttle services and I've heard Hood River is very limited on things like Uber and Lyft, however, the parking lot at the venue is all free parking. There should be enough parking for everyone, but we do encourage carpooling. There is also a taxi service in Hood River that can be reserved in advanced here: https://hoodriverpedicab.com/ Please let us know if you have any questions about transportation!
Please use the online option on this website (below) to RSVP. We ask that all guests RSVP by May 15th 2024. Thank you!
Yes!
The ceremony and reception will mostly take place outdoors, however, the venue itself is indoors and can be accessed throughout the entire event, so you have options if it's too hot or cold. The average temperatures in Hood River this time of year are around 70°-80° F.
From the venue website (https://cragrathut.com/about): The Crag Rat Hut is the official club house of the Crag Rats, America’s oldest mountain rescue organization. We were formed in 1926 and are a charter and current member of the Mountain Rescue Association. The Crag Rats are an all volunteer, non-profit organization based out of Hood River, Oregon covering Mt. Hood and the Columbia Gorge. The Crag Rats are a non-profit volunteer organization. We are not fully funded by our local government, so we rely on donations. We have opened up the Hut as a way to raise money to support our search and rescue efforts. While our members are all volunteers, there are some serious expenses that come with our searches in vital equipment and training. Profits from our rentals go directly to support our core mission of rescuing stranded, injured, and lost hikers and climbers. Learn more here: http://www.cragrats.org/about-the-cragrats/#history
