We first met wearing goofy yellow Navy uniforms at 5am on a Tuesday, and probably introduced ourselves to each other as "midshipman". We remained friends for the next few years, until our fifth year at Virginia Tech when Chris found himself in a pickle. He needed a date to a GERMAN Club formal and I was lucky enough to be on the short list. After agreeing to go as friends, we danced the night away. I felt like I was meeting him for the first time all over again, and I knew we couldn't just be friends any longer.

We first met in 2017 as nervous freshmen. Vivian and I were in the same squad and quickly became friends through ROTC and the Corps of Cadets. We stayed solely friends until our fifth year at Virginia Tech when I asked her to formals. Shortly after that evening, she invited me to go skiing with her and some friends. I fell completely head over heels for her during that trip.
