It's a Michigan thing! The coney dog originated in the early 1900's, with competing claims from American and Lafayette Coney! They are located right next to each other and only a short walking distance from The Shinola Hotel. Alex and Chris prefer Lafayette over American Coney. It's quite an unusual experience.

Head over to the corner of Canfield & Cass where you'll be able to shop at the Shinola store, City Bird, & various shops. The Shinola store is a Detroit based luxury goods retailer which produces bikes, watches, and leather goods. If you're hungry stop in at the Jolly Pumpkin (Obama ate there), or The Motor City Brewery. You must also check out Third Man Records which was founded by Jack White. They have a state-of-the-art vinyl production facility.
