North and I met through mutual friends starting our freshman year of college. He was known for his long, curly hair and his quiet, mysterious personality. I knew I had to crack this man and be friends with him. We started to go on walks, do homework, and play card games in a little friend group. Even though he started out quiet, he had always brought the most comforting presence and I felt like I could be my silliest self with no judgement around him. Going into our sophomore year, North had convinced me to sign up for the same classes as him since we had similar science majors. I thought "wait this is great I'll have a friend in every class." What I didn't know was that this was North's master plan to date me... and it totally worked. We had class every single day together- we were lab partners every Wednesday for 3 hours, we would walk to and from classes together, and we would work on homework and lab reports together every Thursday. I quickly realized after listening to a sermon on a chapter in the book of Ruth that I had a mad crush on this dude and I had no idea what I was going to do. I spent a week wrapping my head around it all and was in shock at how gullible I had been. I told my roommates and one of my close friends one weekend in September of 2021. My friend went over to tell him to ask me out and I freaked. I knew I had to tell him, especially since we were going to be seeing each other in class the next day. SO, I asked him to go for a drive and we told each other everything. We went on a few awesome dates later that month and then started dating shortly afterwards! Over the past few years of dating, North and I have been able to grow together in faith, community, and in our love for all of the outdoors and activities that Knoxville has to offer. The Lord has been so kind to us throughout this journey, and we can't wait to officially tie the knot and start this next chapter together! :)
