Getting to Mexico

Don't forget your passport, and make sure it expires no sooner than 6 months after your visit. If you're a US citizen, you do not need to apply for a visa ahead of time. Mexico City's airport (MEX) is called Benito Juarez International Airport. Once you clear customs, it's easy to get an Uber to any destination in the city.

Getting Around in the City

Mexico City has heavy traffic during the day, so plan accordingly! Uber is widely available and safe to use throughout the city; just make sure you get into the correct car. You can use the Uber app the same way you would in the US, but the prices shown in the app will be in Mexican pesos. Taxi cabs are also available in some areas, but many of them prefer to be paid with pesos in cash. If you hail a taxi, make sure the driver knows your destination and explains the price to you before you accept the ride.
