We're getting married!

We met on a student run backpacking trip in the mountains of North Carolina. Miles was the seasoned backpacker earning credit for class. Christina was getting away for the weekend on some new trails. Miles slyly tried to make sure Christina noticed him and she was making sure not to lead him on too much (but he was so cute!). Turns out they had a class together that semester! After asking Miles if he was ever going to ask for my number, the rest has been history.

Miles and I love to get outside and hike and had picked a day in peak leaf season to go to the mountains together. The plan was to finish with some brewery hopping. Miles wanted to leave at 5:30 in the morning and I couldn't understand why! After struggling to find parking, we settled for our 3rd option trail. Much to Miles' obvious dismay, mountain bikers were constantly around us. He kept checking his watch, and I kept asking why. Finally, we turned a corner and were at the edge of a lake- alone. There on a deck over the water, Miles asked me to marry him. Just as soon as we had hugged and 'oh my gosh'ed, mountain bikers came over the ridge and down to our deck. Miles was annoyed. I saw someone to take our picture and celebrate our moment! Miles rushed me back to the car only to drive back to Thomasville where my family and his were waiting for us. It was a great surprise, and lovely day.
