About Us

Fall 2017

We met at UW-Parkside as Theatre majors. Jordan was THE props guy, and Christiane had an interest in building/crafting props. She asked to get some projects to work on for some shows, and thus ensued our many late nights of building, painting, electrical wiring, etc. Not only did we spend a LOT of time together working on these projects, but we also clicked super well. Talking was always easy, interesting, and meaningful, and we had a lot of fun and thoroughly enjoyed spending time together. March 12th, 2018 After several months of hanging out and spending time together, we decided to officially date. The following summer was spent apart while Jordan interned at the Public Theater in New York and Christiane interned at the Pacific Conservatory Theatre in California, but this only strengthened our relationship. We continued dating throughout our senior year and through graduation. May, 2019 After graduation, we moved in together (with Bri ;) ). Throughout the following three years of living together, a few things became very clear: first, we work and function well together; second, we still love and are very excited about spending time together; and third, we have only grown to love, trust, and respect each other more deeply and push each other to be the best versions of ourselves. The Proposal July 5th, 2022 First, it's important to know that Christiane loves puzzles and games, and we both enjoy geocaching and had been planning to go that day. Christiane was woken up in the morning by Jordan who insisted she get up to have coffee (because of course that would work) so that we could go geocaching. Next to her coffee, however, was a letter expressing his love for her and desire to be with her for the rest of her life. As sweet as it was, there was something odd about how it was written. Christiane quickly realized that the first letter of each sentence was carefully chosen, and when stringed together spelled out "WINDPOINT" for the Windpoint Lighthouse in Racine. And so, off we went to go geocaching near Windpoint Lighthouse. The GPS led us to a box with, not a ring, but two pieces of paper. The first was a long strip with small holes punched out of it. The second was a poem with, of course, more clues and riddles. These led us down the shore to a bench facing the lake, and hidden behind one of the bench legs was a small music box. The purpose of the hole-punched paper became very clear, so Christiane inserted the long strip of paper and turned the crank of the music box. The tune of Jimmy Mathis' "Chances Are" played from the small box as Jordan pulled out yet another box and revealed the ring (that he designed), asking her to marry him. We're sure you can guess what the answer was.
