At the age of fifteen, Anna and her family move from New Orleans to Madison, Mississippi. Unlike her eccentric hometown characterized by jazz, seafood, and culture, Madison is a manicured suburb where life revolves around two things: church and Chick Fil A. She spends her first summer in Mississippi feeling engulfed by homesickness and loneliness without her familiar friends. Then, her neighbor Chris shows up. Or rather, Anna shows up on his doorstep. Sixteen, lanky, and ridiculously goofy, Chris soon becomes the best friend Anna never thought she would find. Over the next six years, they fall in love again and again. They move to different cities—Austin and Boston—but never lose each other. They learn that home isn’t a place, but a person. Finally, in July 2021, Chris asks Anna THE question. You know, the one that comes with a sparkly ring, a candlelit dinner on the beach, and a stampede of family members rushing in for hugs after a resounding “yes!” All too often, romance stories end with a proposal. But we’re beyond excited to invite you to our wedding on June 11, 2023 to participate in the unfolding of a new chapter in our adventure. What’s next for Anna and Chris as they tie the knot and say “I do?” Chris recently graduated from Northeastern University with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. Anna recently graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. in History, a B.A. in the Interdisciplinary Plan II Honors Program, and a Certificate in Museum Studies. She will be attending Wake Forest Law in the fall.
