A decade later, I must say... God knew what he was doing when he allowed us into each other’s lives! It's the end of our junior year of high school and there was this party. I remember walking looking for my cousin and sister and I walked pass this guy who stole ALL of my attention. It was like a double take moment. Chris looked at me and I looked back at him. I even remember his exact outfit! Stalker-ish right?! A week passes and I couldn't get him off of my mind. I talked about him non stop, hoping I would see him again... Maybe a little over a week later I'm hanging out on Myspace and I receive this message. I was always the type to ignore messages from guys I didn't know, but something told me to open this one. The message says something like "Wuz up this CB. I don't know you but wanted to say ur cute." I shook my head... Then I clicked on his page and went through his pictures thinking that he's just another creep. It was him!!! Omg I couldnt believe that he landed on my page! We had a casual conversation and eventually exchanged numbers. After talking a month and a half I knew we needed to make what we had official because there was something special about what we had. This was the first time ever that I had knots in my stomach by someone... My best friend was having her 17th birthday dinner and we decided to make it our first date. Although he is allergic to seafood, he still didn't mind coming to Red Lobster, which was so sweet to me. The date went well and that night, we made our relationship official (7/10/09). We then finished high school and I continued on to becoming a hairstylist and him a engineer. High school sweethearts, I know! Chris and I have been through the good and the bad, storms that seem like they’d never end, but highs so beautiful... we still stand. Christmas Eve of 2018 was the day he proposed and of course I said YES! It is so rewarding being able to marry my soul mate, best friend, my rock, and the love of my life.
