Our story begins where most human interaction occurs in the 21st century: the internet. Janine and Chris met on Match.com, and, after many days of building a connection through messages, decided it was time to finally meet in person. Their first date was at TopGolf, where they both found themselves marveling at how quickly they each felt comfortable in the other's presence. After hours of jokes, stories, and continuously extending the time allowed in their bay, Janine and Chris left their first date with an undeniable connection and an overwhelming excitement for their next meeting. After a couple of other fun and engaging dates, the two decided to take a day trip to Providence Canyon State Park. They walked seven miles around the outskirts of the canyon, laughing and talking for hours, enjoying peaceful silence when it came and developed a deeper understanding of each other as they explored the beauty of what is considered Georgia's Mini Grand Canyon. As they finished their hike, they looked down over the edge of the canyon and realized that they had missed the trails exploring the inner workings of the canyon, and both knew that it would give them a reason to revisit the place where they discovered the depth of their connection to one another. On the way home from Providence Canyon, they stopped at Chris' family’s home where Janine was able to meet his parents, sister, and adorable nephew. She realized that he came from a wonderful, loving, kind, and close-knit family and loved every moment spent with them. They reluctantly went their separate ways home, thankful for such a wonderful day.

A short week later, it was time for Chris to meet Janine's parents. It would be unfitting for Chris to meet Janine's parents outside of an exciting excursion, so her parents took him out on a lake to teach him how to water ski. Chris came prepared for good impressions that day with two bouquets of flowers, one for Janine and one for her mom. Janine's parents were amazed by his thoughtfulness, manners, and genuine easy-to-talk-to nature. Chris managed to get up on water ski's for the first time and survived Janine's dad's attempts on his life while getting dragged around the lake at top speed on a tube. Chris was amazed by the active, adventurous, fun-loving pair and couldn't wait for more adventures with them.

After nearly a year together, Chris and Janine decided to return to Providence Canyon to finally explore those inner trails they had missed on their first visit together. Unbeknownst to Janine, Chris had already explored the trails to find a perfect spot for a proposal. He found a beautiful clearing where his sister could hide for photos and presented a huge rock amid rock walls. Janine said "yes, absolutely" and they have been smiling ever since. You could say their story is love at first hike.
