Chris & Emery's love story started back in his families barn. Emery was introduced to Chris by one of her friends. She knew instantly that there was something special about him. She will tell you she felt like they were soul mates, but for him it took a little longer to find out he felt the same. Chris is big on being the life of the party & friendship, so it took Emery being patient to strengthen their relationship over the course of 2 years. They went to many Ball State parties together, and he even convinced her to get Grayson their fur baby. They drifted apart for a little bit, and Emery started nursing school. On Emery's 21st birthday, July 21st 2014, Chris decided to take things serious with Emery. He texted her "Happy Birthday I hope you are living it up in Vegas". He then followed that text up with an invite to a party when she would get home on July 25, 2014. It was the moment Emery had been waiting 2 years for. The two could officially say they were soul mates from that date on.

Chris set up a picnic at Urban Vines Winery, for those of you who don't know it the couples favorite winery. Emery felt like the month of May would be "the month" for it to happen. The first weekend of May she unexpectedly worked to deliver their best friends second baby. Which left only 2 more weekends. The morning of May 15th, Emery nervously got ready for what she thought might be "it". She then realized Chris didn't look like he had a ring anywhere in his pockets. It wasn't hiding in the car anywhere. Emery texted her best friend saying it wasn't going to happen. They got to Urban Vines and no sign was noticeable of "Will You Marry Me". At this point she was for sure it was not happening. We played a quick "getting to know you game". Emery was quickly becoming inpatient and ready to go. Chris asked her to draw one more card which she read to him "how do you know when you've found the one you love." It was in that moment Chris asked her to stand up as he got down on one knee and proposed. The two's close friends, family, and dog were behind them to capture and witness this moment between the two.
