We were matched together through someone very near and dear to us both (you know who you are!). Chris added me on Facebook and we casually talked back and forth for a couple of months before officially going out on our first date.
Chris had asked several times months before this about being able to take me to dinner. At this point, I was still nervous, but I FINALLY agreed and we set up dinner at Los Tres, one of our favorite mexican restaurants and from there went to the movies to go see The Equalizer 2. During the entire night, we laughed and we talked about everything from hobbies, past relationships, and future goals. Time definitely snuck up on us because by the time we said our goodbyes, it was after midnight. The date was nothing short of amazing though and we have been inseparable ever since!
It was my birthday and I planned to have dinner and a game night with all of our closest friends as we normally do to celebrate each others birthdays and milestones. We go have dinner at Los Tres and then head back to my friend's house for game night. Now for those of you who aren't aware, UNO is one of our favorite and most competitive games to play during game night and our motto is "There are no friends in UNO" lol. With that being said, I was one card away from winning the game and then Chris put down a card to "swap hands" which means I have to take his deck of cards and also give him mine. Now I was so disappointed because I had one card left and Chris had like 20 cards in his hand lol. When I finally looked at the hand I just recieved, there was a wild card that had "Will you marry me?" written on the front. That is when Chris proposed! In hindsight, I should have known Chris was up to something because he hardly touched his meal at dinner and he was so persistent about playing more games of UNO when we were going to start playing other games. All in all, it was one of the best moments of our lives and now we get to celebrate with all of you!
While we both are not a fan of the summer heat of August, we simply could not resist the date. Our wedding day will be our sixth anniversary together and we could not think of a better day to become one and celebrate starting our life together as husband and wife. See you at the altar!
