Engagement
Chris & I met our sophomore year of high school at a party. We both had vibrant personalities & loved dancing. We bumped into each other and had an instant vibe. For the rest of our adolescence we ran into each other and had the best time. You could instantly tell we were meant to be friends. We stayed in communication here and there throughout the years after we graduated high school. Chris moved to Dallas for college & I went to college in Arizona then became a flight attendant. Once I started, i eventually got based out of Dallas. Chris of course “slide in DMs” lol to hang out but it never fell through. After some years had passed Chris wrote me letting me know he moved back to Arizona, that’s when our friendship started to flourish in our adulthood. The moment we started hanging out again, we had a ball together. I always told him he was the male version of me lol. We were inseparable. We both agreed we started to grow feelings for one another but would remain as friends. We didn’t want to tarnish the friendship we had. After so long we both started to have stronger feelings and began dating. 4 months in to dating we choose to move in together, since we were already inseparable. The next month, Covid arised in 2020. So we got to spend the first year on lock down, getting to know each other inside and out. Which I believe shaped our relationship in many different ways. The next year we found out I was pregnant. Although we had a lot of adversities, we’ve grown more and more in love each day. From Covid, having our sweet boy, to navigating a life of normalcy, we’ve stuck by each other. Our story will always be my favorite.
Funny thing about our story is we actually have known each other for about 13 years even though we have been together for 5. We met in high school at a party and really just connected as friends off the vibes. We would always catch each other at events and get excited because we knew we were the life of the party. We graduated and stayed in touch here and there until crazy enough i was in college in Dallas and charnel was based out of Dallas for a little. We started talking a bit more but It wasn't until I moved back to Phoenix that they we actually started kicking it. This was an extremely unorthodox friendship because both me and charnel would travel weekly for work but we loved it. We loved the thrill, the uncertainty and really the understanding that we both had our own thing going. When we were both in town we spent as much time together as we could and eventually took a liking to each other. We decided to try something out and within 4 months of dating we got an apartment together off the whim. Covid hit, which forced us to get to know each other very well for the next two years!. After going through covid, we knew that we were soul mates and that this was going to last forever. It's very rare that you meet someone with the same story, same goals and a pure soul. It was like we were looking at ourselves.
