We grew up living just a few miles from each other in Sheldon, Iowa, but God didn’t plan for us to meet until we were in our thirties. We met for the first time thanks to mutual friends and went on a couple of dates in the summer of 2019. At that time, Kayla was living and working in Sioux Falls and Chris had just finished up graduate school at Colorado State University and had taken a job in Indiana. We kept in contact while living states away and after Chris moved back to Iowa, we met for a date again in Sioux Falls on August 19, 2021. While dating during the fall of last year we were able to enjoy time spent with many friends and family sharing meals and playing plenty of card games! Some of our highlights during 2021 were traveling to Sheboygan, Wisconsin to attend the Ryder Cup, the Omaha Zoo, and a Christmas trip to California. February 18, 2022 was a cold, windy Friday in Sioux Falls. Kayla was expecting to go out for dinner downtown, but was surprised when Chris asked her to marry him, but the surprises for Kayla that evening didn’t stop there. If you know Kayla well then you know she loves people so after dinner we were surprised to be able to celebrate with friends at Kayla’s house! We are thankful to have been surrounded by amazing people over the past year and we are excited to have you celebrate with us on August 19th! With Love Chris & Kayla
