We met through a mutual friend at a Legwarmers (1980s cover band) concert at the State Theater in Falls Church, VA. Dara had an extra concert ticket and asked her neighbor if he wanted to invite a friend. That friend turned out to be Chris!

Chris planned the engagement back to where it all began…the State Theater. We were seeing Almost Queen (a tribute band) perform, so Chris contacted the band and theater manager. He organized a VIP access pass to enter the theater before it opened to the public to propose on the balcony. He also planned for the band to do a congratulations “shout out” to us while they sang the song “My Best Friend”. We all know things don’t always happen as planned. After Chris couldn’t get ahold of the manager to bring us in the theater early, he delayed the proposal until when we got home. It was very intimate and absolutely perfect.

Dara planned a surprise birthday getaway for Chris’s 40th at the Bavarian Inn in December 2021. She knew he would enjoy a relaxing weekend away, just the two of us, to enjoy great food, piano bar, craft beer, and a romantic atmosphere. What we didn’t know was just how much we would fall in love with this place. Chris loved the baroque architecture and European decor. Meanwhile, the atmosphere reminded Dara about her time living in Germany. At dinner, we looked around and gestured that the Inn would be the perfect place to get married. As soon as we were engaged, it was no surprise that the Bavarian Inn would be the setting for our wedding. We can’t wait to dance the night away with our family and friends.
