She liked his kind eyes, he loved her big smile. She sent the first like, and he asked when he could take her out. She showed up ten minutes late (typical) and he thought it was a power move (it wasn't). He asked if she'd want to split a queso flameado and her eyes lit up... (editor's note: he lured me in with cheese, y'all. It was destiny). They both felt they could be their full self with this perfect stranger across the table. Hours felt like minutes. The restaurant closed around them, and they didn't even notice. From the first date, the connection was undeniable. They'd found their other half. He walked her to her car, they hugged and lingered. He asked if he could see her again. She grabbed him and kissed him- it was too good of a date to not kiss him.
A year & a half after they fell in love, they took a trip to the Yucatan to spend time with family in Merida. Kathleen, Evan's middle sister, her husband, Nick, and their sweet baby girl, Simone, all knew that Evan had a surprise planned. After several days spent exploring Mayan ruins, magical cenotes, and incredible restaurants with their family, Evan told Chloe to pack a bag, he was taking her somewhere overnight. She asked if she could inquire about where they were going. He said simply, "no". With blind trust and a sneaky suspicion, Chloe did as instructed. Evan ordered a car, which drove them half an hour away from their family's place, to a gorgeous hacienda, tucked in the back of an unsuspecting neighborhood. The magic of the property was undeniable from the moment they arrived. The stunning yellow gates greeted them, and then opened to reveal a boutique five star property with tropical plants, amazing wildlife, and awe-inspiring views. Two hours later, he walked her out of a breathtakingly beautiful suite to a historic red chapel and asked if he could call her his, forever. She said yes (maybe with a few extra expletives in there). Evan had a photographer strategically stationed nearby who captured our first moments as an engaged couple together. And now, we celebrate.
