Oktoberfest FAQs

If you have any other questions not listed below about our Oktoberfest Wedding Shower, please text Cheyanne at 712-209-3900. Thank you!
Question

What’s the schedule for the weekend?

Answer

A detailed schedule will be provided closer to the date of our wedding. Additionally, upon arrival you will have an individualized itinerary. A “rehearsal” and welcome dinner will take place Saturday evening. The wedding ceremony and other festivities will take place on Sunday.

Question

Is the ceremony unplugged?

Answer

Yes. Please refrain from using your cell phone for any purpose during the ceremony. We would like our ceremony to be a time for everyone to be present. Do not worry, you won’t miss out on getting a picture, we have in fact hired a professional photographer.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

The dress code is formal (dress, suit, etc.). Please also stay within the color scheme of the wedding, deep red and evergreen, as we would like to have a nice picture of everyone as a keepsake. If you have questions or need ideas, please ask!

Question

Can I bring things to do my hair?

Answer

The venue does not have any hair appliances for use, therefore if you would like to do your hair, you may need to look into bringing something special. Europe runs on 220-240v, while the United States runs on 110-120v, therefore you may destroy your appliance if you use an American appliance. If you do want to bring your own tool, make sure you have an adequate step-down voltage converter from 220-110v. I’d also recommend making sure your tool is rated to handle between 110-240v just to be safe. - Cheyanne

Question

What are the travel plans?

Answer

Check out our travel tab for more information on flights, hotels, and transportation.

Question

Are there things to do in Scotland?

Answer

Edinburgh is the capital city and is full of rich, ancient history, focusing on its medieval and traditional roots. Glasgow is Scotland’s second city and is home to a vibrant, modern city culture with a lot to do. Both are great places to explore. Additionally, we will be in Scotland during Christmas time! Christmas markets were one of Cheyanne’s favorite things in England, and Scotland is well known for its enchanting Christmas markets. Finally, there are tons of small villages to explore and appreciate. Sometimes it just feels special to take a moment and appreciate being in a town or building that was built more than 200 years ago.

Question

What about travel outside of Scotland?

Answer

If you would like to travel outside of Scotland during your time across the pond, there’s a multitude of convenient locations such as England, Ireland, and even mainland Europe.

Question

What is the weather like in Scotland in December?

Answer

It’s cool and damp. The average temperature is around 40 degrees, but may dip even cooler.

Question

Are we required to buy you a gift?

Answer

Absolutely not! Your presence at our wedding is present enough.

Question

Okay but I still want to buy you a gift. Are you registered? Where?

Answer

Check out our registry tab on our website!
