The One Where They Meet As Austin was munching Hot Cheetos for his usual mid-day snack, he scrolled through the Coffee Meets Bagel dating app in search of his forever. His keen eyes locked upon a lady with promise named Cherie Nguyen, who at the time was also scrolling through the app during her study break. She casually sent him a “bagel” because she thought he was kind of cute (meaning she sent him a “I’m interested”). Austin scrolled through Cherie’s photos and was enamored by her innocent-looking charm, especially in the one where she boasted her white coat. Could she be the one, he asked himself? Austin had never dated anyone online before so this was a huge leap for him. Was she real? Was he being catfished? Little did he know, not only would this be his first online date, but would be his last first date forever. They met at Downtown Fullerton to grab tacos and drinks at a local dive bar called HopScotch. When Cherie first laid eyes on Austin, her first thoughts were - ''Why is he wearing pink shoes?”. Austin set his eyes on Cherie, and was completely mesmerized by her elegance. To this day, Austin still remembers the white v-neck sweater and black skinny jeans she rocked that night (she still wears this same outfit). At the taco shop, Austin ordered 6 carne asada and al pastor tacos. He only ate two because he was too nervous and lost his appetite (rare for Austin!) as they spoke fervently getting to know each other. Cherie ordered 3 tacos and ate them with joy, finding Austin’s excited chatter quite charming. She was just happy that besides his pink Nike Flyknits, he looked like his dating profile. And as a bonus, he had some superhuman-looking triceps. After filling up on some food, Austin ordered his favorite libation, an old-fashioned for both him and his lovely date. They bonded over their similar music interests, shared culture and family values. The rest of the story is history. There was a second, a third, a fourth date. The dates still continue, the learning never stops. And the passion that they have for each other as partners grows through each adventure and adversity as they make their way through life together.
