Do I have to stay on site?
Answer
We have arranged a room block at Newport Harbor Island Resort - the site of our reception. Please see "Recommended Hotels" for details and link to book. We have also set up a wedding hotel booking page for all hotels/rentals in the Newport and Middletown area, with specially negotiated and discounted rates not available to the general public. In order to receive these rates, please book your hotel stay through the following link: https://zola.hotelplanner.com/EventPage7469585 During the summer months, many hotels in Newport require a two-night minimum. If you are looking to only stay for one night, we would recommend checking out the hotel options in Middletown, RI.

Is there parking for the ceremony/reception?
Answer
Yes, there is free parking available at both Our Lady of Mercy Chapel and Newport Harbor Island Resort. The resort does have plenty of free parking which you will find to the left of the entrance of the property upon arrival. If you would prefer to valet, that is also available for a fee and can be found to the right of the entrance upon arrival. If you are not planning on taking the shuttle to the ceremony, please be prepared for Newport traffic and we ask that you arrive at the church no later than 2:40pm. Parking is available on Ochre Point Avenue, in front of the chapel, on both sides of the street. There are large parking lots in front of the Rogers Recreation Center and McKillop Library. You are allowed to park in areas that are marked for students, faculty and staff.

What is the attire?
Answer
Black Tie Optional - tuxes and gowns are preferred but not required. Temperatures in June average high of 72°F and a low of 59°F - it generally feels mildly cool with a gentle breeze. Our cocktail hour will be held outside and located on the water so we encourage an extra layer just in case.
