We live in Uptown and there are 3 easily accessible lakes for Kayaking, Canoeing, and Stand-Up Paddle board. You can rent from Wheelfun sports which is located on Bde Maka Ska.
Walk around Minnehaha Falls and grab a bite to eat at Sea Salt Eatery
Kayak or Canoe Taylors Falls. This is about 1.5 hours away but is an incredibly beautiful spot if you have the time.
Walk around the sculpture garden adjacent to the Walker Art Museum (a fun free outdoor activity for people of all ages)
One of our favorite art museums!
Our other favorite art museum
The chain of lakes in Uptown includes four lakes (Lake of the Isles, Bde Maka Ska, Harriet and Cedar). We love walking and biking around Isles and Bde Maka Ska. You can rent Lime Bikes easily and go for a ride around the lake or enjoy a nice stroll!
This is the second largest state fair in the country. Roughly 140-160,000 people visit each day. It will run from the Thursday before the wedding up until Labor Day. We recommend an Uber/Lyft take you because parking is both expensive and challenging to find.
Go to a Twins game! This is one of Yoni's favorite things to do and it is a beautiful stadium with reasonably priced tickets.
We aren't huge on malls, but if you are in need of any items on the trip you are guaranteed to find it here. They even have a six flags theme park inside the mall!
Unique Asian Italian Fusion; highly recommend the Isaac Becker Pizza
One of our favorite Southeast Asian restaurants. Truly cannot go wrong with any dish you order here!
Rated the NYT best new restaurant in 2022, Owamni is a unique concept serving Indiginous food with no colonial ingredients. You will need to reserve several weeks out if you want to go but a great spot (especially for anyone who is gluten free)
Delicious Southeast Asian Restaurant that we love near Uptown. Highly recommend the Sakoo and the chicken red curry.
Delicious Mexican/Oaxacan food! We love the tuna tostada and the "Naked Dani" cocktail
