Pat and Chelsea met on September 23, 2017 at the North Wildwood Irish Fall Festival, or "Irish Weekend," a longstanding tradition celebrated by both of their families. Pat was out to celebrate with his brothers and cousins following a victorious Penn State football win. Chelsea also happened to be out that night with her sister, Denise, who insisted they go to "one more bar" before going home. Pat and Chelsea met under the tent at the Anglesea Pub, dancing and singing to live Irish music. They struck up conversation with each other and before they headed their separate ways for the night, Pat asked Chelsea for her phone number. The next day, Pat texted Chelsea and they instantly hit it off, texting back-and-forth on a constant basis. On October 13th, 2017, Pat took Chelsea out for their first date at Cherry Street Tavern in Philadelphia. From that night on, they were both all-in. Over the next three years, Pat and Chelsea would commute back and forth between cities nearly every weekend while Chelsea lived in New York and Pat lived in Philly. In 2020, they closed their long-distance gap and moved into their first apartment together in the Fairmount section of Philadephia. In 2022, Chelsea finished graduate school at Villanova and they purchased their first home in Havertown. To celebrate, they hosted both of their families over for dinner on November 11, 2022. After dinner, Pat asked Chelsea to come outside to their front porch, where he got down on one knee and proposed. Little did Chelsea know that around the corner at Manoa Tavern, family and friends were waiting there to celebrate their engagement! A few weeks later, Pat and Chelsea adopted their first dog together: their beloved hound pup, Finbar. From Pat and Chelsea: We are so excited to be married after six wonderful years together, and are so happy to celebrate with our nearest and dearest loved ones. We cannot wait to be together with our family and friends. Thank you from our hearts for being a part of our big day! LET'S GET MARRIED!!! 🥳
