Checca and I met at work the summer after we both graduated from college in 2016. We quickly became close friends, but I would say our “relationship” really started the morning I thought she was going to quit. Checca came into work and I could tell something was off so I quickly pulled her away to see what was wrong. Looking back…. she was probably just having a rough week and it wasn’t that serious… but I panicked. I hated the thought of this beautiful, kind, and intelligent girl already leaving my life even though we had met just 3 months prior. It was that moment that I realized that I had already started thinking about our future together. Over the next few years Checca and I spent a lot of time together. Whether it was trying DC’s best new restaurant, Nats games, and even the occasional farmers market. The saying is true, when you know you know, and in those years, I definitely knew. By the fall of 2019, Checca and I were inseparable and the time came for myself to man up and tell her how I feel… so I invited her to Mug Night at Whitlows, which at the time, seemed like the perfect place to profess my love for my future wife. And it was— fate would have it that Checca had similar feelings. We soon after started dating and both quickly knew that we had something special. The rest is history, we are so excited to start our life together as husband and wife!
