Her version: I met WiLL my sophmore year of college at SUNY Farmingdale through mutual friends. Our fates crossed again my junior year when WiLL & his roommate ended up dorming with my close guy friends. Our suites were right next to each other! Around Halloween, my sister had a Halloween party & my roommate invited WiLL to join us. To me he seemed shy & a little nerdy, & though it was not love at first sight, the attraction was immediate. I could tell he was SUPER into me & so could all my friends, even though he tried to play it cool. Our first kiss was in a car on our way back to the dorms from a different Halloween party on the morning of November 1st 2008. His version: Coming out of hightschool, I wasn't the greatest student. I had been rejected by every college I had applied to. Due to this, I was not able to attend college until Fall of 2007. By the time I got to Farmingdale, Jessica was already a year ahead of me & understood what college life was about. I ended up meeting her through mutuals friends. My first impression of her was that she partied way too much. We were complete opposites, but I wanted to get to know her & discover more about her. Her version: We were polar opposites. But somehow things just clicked for us. The semester we met, WiLL almost failed out of school, but he pulled through & learned how to manage keeping up with me & school. Since we both love moving at the pace of a snail, it took us a year & a half to make it official as boyfriend/girlfriend, 8 years together & 1 year apart before moving in together & 12 years total before getting engaged! His version: Having missed out on a year of college due to my grades, I was extra careful to not throw away this opportunity. My first year in college I got a 4.0 (FACT). The following year we got closer and started hanging out a lot more. Eventually making it official in January of that year. I got a 2.3 GPA that year. Thanks Jessica! It was difficult trying to manage being in a relationship, while trying to get my life together. It was not easy, but we made it work. Her version: I booked us a trip to the Maldives for our 12 year anniversary. Many people were convinced he would propose on this trip. I did not think an engagment was even on his radar. BUT he proposed! WiLL proposed on February 18th, 2020 on a dock by the water at the Hard Rock Hotel in the Maldives. He was so nervous he forgot his entire speech. His version: I knew I wanted us to be together for the rest of our lives and decided it was time to propose. I started thinking about proposing about 6 months before our trip, but didn't know when I would have the guts to actually ask. I did not originally intend to propose at the Maldives because I did not have the ring yet. The ring arrived at the store only a couple of days before we were leaving on the trip. I decided to propose during the trip thinking it would be a nice, exotic location & different from what we've done in the past. The proposal was one of the scariest moments in my life. It was nervewrecking carrying the ring to Moscow first. I was worried that they would open the box in front of her at the ariport. At the Maldives I carried the ring around for 3 days not knowing when would be a good time to propose. I was running out of time and knew I needed to do it before we left. I finally built the courage to ask. She said yes! And I was finally able to enjoy the last few days of our trip. J&W: We have done things slow & are always methodical and calculated with our decisions. Our friends would joke that it took 12 years for us to get engaged so the wedding was probably another 20 years away. But pushing off the wedding to have our little boy was the best decision we made. Now Landon can be part of our special day. Therefore, planning this wedding 15 years after we started dating seems like the perfect time for us. We are both so excited to continue our forever story, and to share our special day with all of you!
