Some people find love in coffee shops, some people run into a handsome stranger in the rain running to their next class, some people meet in Walmart.. But our two lovebirds met on a dating app. Specifically Tinder. Melia was only looking for companionship and someone to have fun with, she didn't expect to find her future husband on the notorious app... Meanwhile Chase had almost given up on the internet thing, but he swiped right - and Melia thought he was pretty unassuming, geeky and couldn't hurt a fly.. So she gave it a swipe too. They talked for a bit before they went out, and of course, the first place they go is a geek store in Tyler. Melia's first thought when she met him was to ID the man, because she thought he was underage (he was 26 at the time) - and so she did and was shocked that it wasn't a fake. When Chase first laid eyes on her, "Man, this girl is short." After dinner, they sat in the back of his car and talked until 3AM in the morning in the parking lot of Abeulos Mexican Restaurant, they got deep and ended up sharing about their pasts, their hurts and stories with each other that ultimately broke the awkwardness and made them both realize that the person sitting next to them could be the real deal. The night ended with a small innocent kiss and they went their separate ways. He asked her to be offical soon after, but Melia felt it was too soon and still wanted to do some healing and figure out what she wanted to do next in her life before she jumped into a relationship again. Two months later, two days after her birthday, after him still not giving up the pursuit -She went ahead and caved, and told him it wouldn't be super serious for a while..
